It's impossible to talk about the second floor without mentioning Disco Fest, simply one of Paradise Disco's most beloved events. The event happened once a year, inviting famous DJs and even some bands, both famous and underground. The event lasted about a week; often, people stayed for days just to avoid missing the party or only went home to shower. At these events, the entrance fees were higher, since you could alternate between floors to eat and relax in a quieter space. It was incredible that even Lilly's mascot showed up to enjoy the party!
The game tables were removed, because the place was simply PACKED!!! I went on a few days and, man, the disco simply NEVER STOPS!!! The energy of the place is incredible. They put a lot of effort into the lighting; the place was so lively and colorful. Not to mention the great hits that made people faint from dancing so much. Check out this excerpt from an interview that took place in 1978, where Billy reveals where the idea for Disco Fest came from:
“Man, where do I even begin? But the whole Disco Fest idea just appeared like magic, man! I was taking an afternoon nap and, dude, I had a really crazy dream. A strange man appeared to me; I don't remember much, I just remember he was wearing movie glasses, you know? Those two-tone glasses, blue and red. He led me to a door; through it, there was some kind of crazy carnival going on and some kind of green light. It was something very strange. Then, when I woke up, the Disco Fest idea came to mind, you know? It was like a whisper.”
That's what I find most incredible about all of this! There are things he says in this interview that match Billy's dream. Coincidence? Of course not! At Disco Fest, practically all the DJs or bands wear glasses with the colors blue and red, just like in Billy's dream.
What the eyes don't see, the mind ignores, but what about those who are unprotected? They will be sucked into the darkness until nothing remains.
Another thing that occurred in your dream and is mentioned is that green light. I said earlier that they went to great lengths with the colored lights, but the most vibrant light was, without a doubt, the green one, which conveyed something addictive.
Try breathing over the greenish sea and realize you can't save yourself.
